Trade & Investment Attaché visits Galle and Hambantota District
Trade & Investment Attaché, Ms. Asmma Kamal visited Galle District Chamber of Commerce & Industries and met with the Chairman, CEO and Board of Directors. A detailed discussion was held on bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in high potential sectors such as Pharmaceuticals, tourism and IT services, with special focus on tea and spices exports of the Galle region. It was strategized to enhance B2B linakges between Galle chamber and regional chambers in Pakistan and to organize localized webinars and trade delegations.
Ms. Asmma Kamal also visited Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce and met with the management and members. She was briefed on the working and initiatives of the oldest regional chamber of Sri Lanka. A detailed discussion was held regarding the trade and investment opportunities specific to Hambantota district, collaboration in IT sector, vocational training of the youth and promotion of women entrepreneurship in the district. Ms. Kamal briefed the participants regarding bilateral trade between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and the various targeted initiatives underway for economic cooperation in high potential sectors.
