PAKISTAN HIGH COMMISSION AWARDS PRESTIGIOUS JINNAH SCHOLARSHIPS TO O & A – LEVEL STUDENTS OF SRI LANKA
A ceremony was organized by the Pakistan High Commission, Colombo to award 304 bright A-Level students of Sri Lanka. These scholarships have been awarded by the Government of Pakistan to brilliant Sri Lankan students of O & A Level since 2006. So far, 2000 Sri Lankan students have benefitted from this program which is named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the revered founding father of Pakistan.
The occasion was graced by the Honorable Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, Minister for Sports & Youth affairs, as the Chief Guest and Honorable Mr. Susil Premajayantha, State Minister of Education Reform, Open Universities & Distance Learning Promotion, as Guest of Honor. Both the Honorable guests appreciated this gracious gesture from the Government and the public of Pakistan.
H.E. Major General (Retd) Muhammad Saad Khattak thanked the honorable guests for gracing this auspicious occasion. He emphasized upon the importance of the relationship that both the countries enjoy and the fact that Pakistan aims at strengthening these strong ties manifolds.
