Pakistan Army Volleyball Team in Sri Lanka
Under the sports exchange programme between Pakistan and Sri Lankan Army, a 15-member Pakistan Army volleyball team arrived in Sri Lanka to play a series of friendly matches with the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force. Defence Advisor of Pakistan, Col. Rajil Irshad Khan is coordinating the visit.
The visiting Pakistan team will participate in the SLAVF Inter Regiment Volleyball Tournament at Panagoda and afterwards at National Youth Council courts at Maharagama during May 31-June 3 where the semi-finals and finals would be played.
The Pakistan team was warmly received at the Bandaranaike International Airport by Vice Chairman Sri Lanka Army Volleyball Committee, along with several senior officers on Friday evening.
Major General Boniface Perera, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Volleyball Committee was the chief guest at the much-awaited match between the players of SLA team and the Pakistan team on Sunday. The visiting team will leave for Pakistan on June 4.
