Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship Association holds Fund Raising Master Quiz

The Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship Association (SLPAFA) in collaboration with the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka organized a fun-filled Fund Raising Friendship Evening recently at the Grand Oriental Hotel, Fort, Colombo 1.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka H.E Qasim Qureshi. The event was also attended by a large number of distinguished personalities including Former Mayor of Colombo Omar Kamil, Former Sri Lankan Army Chief and Ambassador General Sri Laal Weerasooria and the President SLPAFA Iftikhar Aziz.
The event started with the lightening of traditional oil lamp which was followed by the welcome note from Iftikhar Aziz, President SLPAFA.
The event featured an exciting and interesting Master Quiz Competition in which participants contested as teams. The questions in the Master Quiz Competition were related to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, World Affairs, General Knowledge, Science & Technology and Sports among other topics. At the conclusion of the event the chief guest HE Qasim Qureshi distributed prizes to 3 top scoring teams.
The proceeds from the event will be channeled towards many welfare projects of the Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship Association.
The Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship Association is one of the oldest Friendship Association of Sri Lanka which was established 64 years back in 1950. The Association has been able to establish itself as a useful platform, dedicated to the promotion of bilateral relationship and friendship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This relationship is not restricted to any one area or field, but it encompasses every aspect of bilateral cooperation i.e. people to people contacts, culture, education, health, etc.
The Association is endeavoring to promote cultures and traditions of both nations by supporting and encouraging cultural exchanges, celebrating events of national importance of both nations like National Days, Independence Days, etc. The SLPAFA also promotes various social welfare and fund raising activities, student exchanges and encourages students to obtain admissions into the recognized learning institutions for higher studies in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
