Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has appreciated United Nation’s role in promoting international agenda on peace‚ security‚ development and Human rights.
At a meeting with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on the sidelines of the Tokyo Conference she assured that Pakistan would continue to play a leading role in UN peace keeping operations for the maintenance of International Peace and security.
She briefed the Secretary General on the situation inAfghanistan and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to long term Political and economic stability in Afghanistan.
Secretary General appreciated Pakistan’s role in Afghanistanand welcomed Pakistan’s decision to open the Ground Lines of Communication for NATO forces in Afghanistan.
Earlier‚ Foreign Minister Khar also had bilateral meetings with the Foreign Minister of Germany‚ France‚ Italy‚ Afghanistan‚ Australia and the British Secretary of State for international development.
