The President has called for expediting work on power generation projects being undertaken with the Chinese cooperation
President Asif Ali Zardari has called for expediting work on power generation projects being undertaken with the cooperation of China’s Three Gorges Corporation.
He was talking to a Chinese delegation‚ headed by Senior Vice President China Three Gorges Corporation‚ Mr. Wang Shaofeng‚ at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The President said Pakistan is also keen to have Chinese assistance in conservation of its water resources.
While appreciating the involvement of Three Gorges Corporation in various electricity generation projects‚ particularly solar power project and wind project in Sindh‚ he invited the company to also invest in new projects and participate in the construction of small and medium dams in various parts of the country.
President Zardari reiterated the Government’s assurance of all possible facilitation to the Three Gorges Dam Project Company in construction of dams and alternate energy projects in the country.
Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar says projects being undertaken with the assistance of Three Gorges Corporation of Chinawould add two thousand and five hundred megawatts of electricity into the system of which approximately one thousand‚ nine hundred and fifty megawatts would be the hydro electricity and the rest would be generated through wind and solar means.
