Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said the parliament is the mother of all institutions as country’s solidarity and destiny lies in accepting of its sanctity and supremacy wholeheartedly.
He expressed these views while presiding meeting of the PPP parliamentarians from Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas in Peshawar.
He said each state institution has its own limits which should be respected and honored.
He said opposition has been invited to develop consensus on appointment of Chief Election Commissioner.
Raja Pervez Ashraf said the government has no objection if opposition proposed a name of neutral and impartial person for the post of CEC.
Raja Pervez Ashraf said if the electricity policy chalked out by Benazir Bhutto Shaheed in 1994 was not hampered‚ on Thursday the country was self-sufficient in electricity generation. However‚ he said‚ the present government has added around 3400 MW electricity in the system taking emergency measures for reducing the duration of load shedding.
Earlier‚ the Prime Minister‚ the Governor and participants of the meeting offered Fateha for eternal peace of Quaid e Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.
