PM directs to mitigate negative flood hazards

Prime Minister has directed all concerned departments to formulate a strategy to tackle any eventuality during coming monsoon

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has asked all the state institutions to work dedication to mitigate the negative effects of flood hazards and take timely preventive measures to reduce its damages.

Addressing a pre-monsoon high level meeting in Islamabad on Monday he said that this season has already set in‚ therefore we need to analyse and highlight the factors that jolted us in the past and then workout its strategy to face any challenges.

The Prime Minister said that accurate flood forecasting all institutional arrangement should be made to face this national calamity. He said hopefully we will be able to reduce its affects.

He said we not only restrict themselves to safety of dams’ structure. He said the possibility of intimating the people through SMS should also be explored.
