Pakistan High Commission, Colombo in collaboration with Courtyard Marriott, Sri Lankan Airlines and Marriott Islamabad has organized a Pakistani Food Festival from 3-13 October 2024. The inaugural ceremony of the festival was held on 3 October 2024. The event was attended by a large number of people including diplomats, government officials, businessmen and media representatives. High Commissioner of Pakistan was Chief Guest of the event.
In his remarks, the High Commissioner of Pakistan Maj. Gen (R) Faheem Ul Aziz stated that the food festival is a testament to the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The two nations share a bond rooted in history, mutual respect, and close collaboration across a wide spectrum of areas—be it trade, education, culture, or diplomacy. The High Commissioner added that the Pakistan food festival is a unique opportunity to experience the essence of Pakistan through one of its most cherished expressions—food.
The audience enjoyed the food as well as the live music performance by a Pakistani troupe. Members of the music band and two Pakistani Chefs are on a visit to Sri Lanka exclusively for the Pakistani food festival.
