The High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan under the Pakistan Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Program, has been facilitating a two-week executive training of high-ranking Sri Lankan bureaucrats in Pakistan, since 2016.
This year the training will be conducted from the 5-19th February 2023 at the National Defense University (NDU) in Islamabad. A pre-departure session was arranged by the High Commission in Colombo to brief the participants on various aspects of the program, in collaboration with HEC and NDU.
During the session, the High Commissioner of Pakistan, H.E. Maj. Gen. (R) Umar Farooq Burki underscored that this executive training program would not only enhance participants’ comprehension of various models related to international relations, peace studies, strategic studies, public policy, leadership and management, but would also provide an excellent opportunity to understand and experience the society, culture, values and world-renowned hospitality of the people of Pakistan.
The High Commissioner further said that the National Defense University (NDU) is the premier and one of the most distinguished educational institutes of Pakistan. He expressed his confidence that the participants from Sri Lanka would greatly benefit from the high quality and rigorous training and would be better positioned for delivery of excellent public service within their roles in the government.
The delegation members, apart from visiting the government institutions in Pakistan, will visit Lahore and Taxila Museums, and various educational institutions. The delegation will also meet the President of Pakistan and high-ranking government functionaries during their stay in Pakistan.
